{"id":16352,"date":"2021-06-28T21:44:26","date_gmt":"2021-06-29T01:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/motionfm.com\/wp2014\/?p=16352"},"modified":"2021-06-30T09:37:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T13:37:41","slug":"joaquin-joe-claussell-raw-tones-lp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/motionfm.com\/wp2014\/releases\/joaquin-joe-claussell-raw-tones-lp\/","title":{"rendered":"Joaquin Joe Claussell &#8211; Raw Tones &#8211; Double LP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.juno.co.uk\/player-embed\/SF830880-01-01-01.mp3\/?pl=false&#038;pn=false&#038;ed=21-06-29\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The first LP since 2008\u2019s \u2018Corresponding Echoes\u2019 on his Sacred Rhythm Music, Joaquin Joe Claussell arrives on Radio Slave\u2019s Rekids for \u2018Raw Tones\u2019, a nine-track excursion through the sound of his exquisitely soulful house music. <\/p>\n<p>Originally released on uber limited cassettes, the music within \u2018Raw Tones\u2019 caught the ear of Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, who messaged Claussell, a friend since remixing Edwards\u2019 Machine project in 2012, and convinced the legendary producer that the music needed a wider audience and, so, \u2018Raw Tones\u2019 the LP is here. <\/p>\n<p>Introspective opening cut \u2018Lock Down\u2019 draws for breathy strings and swirling pads, followed by the hypnotic and low-slung \u2018The Blame Game (Table Top Idea)\u2019, which sees jazzy keys float around carefully crafted dubbed-out ambience and subtle, whispered vocals. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Break Free\u2019 ups the energy, bringing a wonky bassline under decisive, machine-like drum hits while both spoken and sung vocals interplay throughout. \u2018You Mutha Fuka\u2019 brings rock-solid drums and thick bass underneath delayed vocals before the dreamy chords and twinkling keys of \u2018Way Back Then\u2019 close out the B-side. <\/p>\n<p>The gorgeous \u2018Air We Breathe (Revisited Cassette Demo)\u2019 marries rolling percussion across live bass and softly drawn-out pads, followed by an instrumental version of \u2018Break Free\u2019.
