Still taking after their local Laurel Canyon as their muse, Heider and Seyberth crafted a lush yet ruddy record 15 years ago, relying on the bare ability to tenderise vocals and guitar, over and above any production trickery (though the record is relatively polished too). Grains heralds a predominantly trip hop direction when the beats aren’t softened, with ‘Signs’ serving as the prime example.

Label: Pilotton
Format: limited 180 gram vinyl 2xLP in spot-varnished sleeve
Cat: PILOTTON 32
Released: 07 Nov 24
BUY LP

Tracklist

Side A
1. “Flickers”
2. “Sign”
3. “Big Nick’s”

Side B
1. “Same Sun”
2. “Grains”
3. “Fursattel”

Side C
1. “Heavy On Me”
2. “Kinder Ohne Strom”

Side D
1.”Tonschraube”
2.”Messengers”
3.”Nebelkloster”

Review Grains is Boozoo Bajou’s 2009 third album; marked out as the duo’s most “organic” record, we hear the inimitable blends …

[16
