Even so, Starbase 17 is particularly special. It lands eight years after his previous full-length excursion, and you can tell. Packed with guests and collaborators new and old (Fred Everything, Ernesto, Kaidi Tatham, Karizma, Osunlade, Fred Everything, Clara Hill and Nathan Haines all feature), it takes his evocative, soul-fired and deliciously cultured signature sound into the stratosphere, blending elements of deep house with broken beat, nu-jazz, hip-hop, nods to Latin musical culture and a fantastic blend of organic and electronic instrumentation. A genuine epic at 27 tracks deep, it could well be Iveson’s defining musical statement.

Label: Atjazz
Format: trifold 3xLP
Cat: ARC 1974V
Released: 22 Apr 26
Genre: Deep House
BUY

Tracklist

Side A
1. “Starbase 17” 5:50
2. “Hold It Tenderly” (feat Ernesto & The Basement Gospel) 4:04
3. “L’arrivee” (feat Fred Everything) 5:42
4. “Horizon” (feat Jorge Bezerra & Nathan Haines) 5:36

Side B
1. “Enough” (feat Sarai Jazz & Dwaine Hayden) 4:03
2. “Tentative” (feat Sio) 5:26
3. “Oceans Apart” (feat Audrey Powne & Karizma) 3:52
4. “You’ve Got This” (feat LyricL & Peacey) 4:51
5. “Keep It Light” (feat Amalia) 4:27

Side C
1. “Biome (Shwayvertath)” (feat Si Tew) 6:18
2. “Can I?” (feat Pete Simpson) 4:37
3. “Cardiac” (feat Oveous) 4:58
4. “Falling Apart” (feat Charles Webster) 4:45

Side D
1. “Change The Rules” (feat Kaidi Tatham) 3:50
2. “English Gentleman” (feat Clyde beats, Jorge Bezzera & Octavio N Santos) 5:02
3. “Honey Bee” (feat Natasha Watts & Omar) 5:19
4. “Give Love” (feat Erin Buku) 5:35
5. “Beginnings” (feat Aart Iveson & Rudi Iveson) 1:50

Side E
1. “Grey” (feat Sarai Jazz) 3:36
2. “Let’s Talk” (feat Omar & Max Beesley) 3:57
3. “Greed” (feat Clyde beats) 3:35
4. “Twin Flame” (feat Josh Milan) 4:40
5. “Shine” (feat Rona Ray) 5:22

Side F
1. “Soul To Soul” (feat Ziyon) 4:18
2. “YOUniversal Love” (feat Osunlade) 6:13
3. “Endless” (feat Clara Hill) 5:57
4. “World We Know” (feat Imaani) 4:31

Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson has form when it comes to delivering brilliant albums (his debut album Labfunk, which turns 25 this year, …

[16
