Where in other productions coldness and<br \/>\nmonotony became a standard sound of Dubtechno, the psychedelic warmth of this longplayer let<br \/>\nthe listener dive constantly deeper into Quantec\u2018s \u201aVacuum\u2019.<br \/>\nWithin the full length oft the album, the tracks keep up a certain kind of lightness while still<br \/>\nremaining dancable all the time. Vocal cut-ups and fragments of house music like in \u201aTruth<br \/>\nMaintenance\u2019 and \u201aEternal Soul\u2019 are as well processed as deep basslines and meditative<br \/>\nechospheres (for example \u201aUnplumbed Depth\u2019 or the title track \u201a1000 Vacuum Tubes\u2019).<br \/>\nReminiscences of the analogue beginnings of the \u201aBasic Channel Sound\u2019 like in \u201aThe Gathering\u2019<br \/>\nsup up with modern digital arrangements (\u201aBrain Machinery\u2019). Everything ist held together through<br \/>\nthe pointed use of vocals that create the necessary amount of personality and deepness.<br \/>\nBesides all its complexity Quantec\u2018s album always remains a traditional Dub album. Which is a<br \/>\ngood thing. The different approaches of the tracks point to a greater understanding of dub as a<br \/>\nproduction method that consits of much more than a typical trademarksound. It\u2019s not the effects<br \/>\nthat stand in the foreground but a way of fathoming the different forms of expression of Dub in<br \/>\nelectronic music. \u201a1000 Vacuum Tubes\u2019 generates its special qualities from a deep understanding<br \/>\nof a long history of Dub in Techno music.
