VA – Remixed With Love By Joey Negro: Part B (Z Records)
One half of Joey Negro’s most daring re-edit project to date, here we find eight more disco delights sparkling with the Dave Lee treatment. Paying complete respect to the original grooves, melodies and elements, each track has been given the perfect amount of contemporary disco polish. From the soft, sensuous soul jam “May My Love Be With You” to the jazzier vibraphonic leanings of Ayers’ “Get On Up” via an incredible dubbed-out, near-instrumental swagger on “I Should’ve Loved Ya”, not only does it join the dots between dancefloors of the last 40 years, but also showcases Dave Lee’s boldly broad production – and selection – style. Feel the love.
