Sade – Couldn’t Love You More (Vin Sol & Matrixxman Remixes)
Up and coming San-Fran based producer Vin Sol teams up with his usual partner in crime – Matrixxman for a couple of smooth as f*** edits of the unsung high priestess of Balearic. The two have been busy in the studio crafting rough and ready house clocking in the upper scales of the BPM spectrum. However this 12” couldn’t be further removed from their regular output.
On the a-side the pair tackle “Couldn’t Love You More” making excellent use of those EPIC piano chords, upping the tempo to house territories and wrapping the vocal around a deep Larry Heard-esque track that is exactly on the right side of homage.
On the flip-side “Give It Up”, this bongo-laden and often underrated Balearic gem, gets a helping hand with beefed up drums, a smooth subby bassline and a more respectable running time of just over 9 minutes! Two silky smooth, respectful edits, perfect for any self respecting dancefloor. Limited hand stamped copies on 180 gram vinyl (review by Phonica Records).
