ZE – Hello World EP

If music had walls Ze would tear them down with his genre-defying Hello World EP on Nylon Trax.

Ze is an eclectic, free-spirited producer/artist having grown with the culture from day one. He defines the very essence of what the music should and once was about – clever word play, wit, and a thought provoking, definitive message. Having toured with national acts and worked in several recordings studios, Ze is one third of the group Fleshwound and the founding member of KohZe projects. He produces in a wide range of styles, not limited to soul, house, hip hop, and acid jazz. Ze strongly believes in the power of music to change things, speaking directly in a language all his listeners can feel … a language called “soul.”

The Hello World EP is led by two evocative remixes by renowned producer and label founder Jaymz Nylon. His remix of “I Feel So Good,” featuring Jay Rodriguez, works an insistent broken beat rhythm, exotic flute lines, and the heavily processed lead vocal into a powerful dance-floor statement. This is followed by Jaymz’s ‘Reshape’ of “I’m In The House” which balances a more typical four-on-the-floor rhythm with a menagerie of atypical pads, vocal stabs, and other unique production elements. It’s another beautiful offering from the multi-faceted Jaymz Nylon.

The EP closes with Ze’s original work, including the soulful and spacey downtempo of “I Love It When The Beat Comes Together With You” (assisted by Jaymz and Jay Rodriguez) and the more hip-hop influenced original version of “I Feel So Good.” It’s not that often one runs across a diverse package such as this… Nylon Trax engagingly surprises once again.
