Down To The Bone – Brooklyn Heights (Record Store Day 2019)
UK jazz groove pioneers DOWN TO THE BONE present their first ever Record Store Day offering, and their first vinyl release for many years. The limited edition (of 750) 12inch kicks off with Kaidi Tatham’s stunning reinterpretation of the band’s Grammy-nominated “Brooklyn Heights”, which hit No 2 on Billboard’s Jazz Radio chart on its first release in the late Nineties. There is a brand new recording of another early Down To the Bone classic, “Staten Island Groove”, and two of the favourites from the band’s live set are now released on vinyl for the first time – a cover of the Willie ‘Beaver’ Hale Seventies groove “Concrete Jungle”, and a great reworking of Beyonce’s 2006 hit “Deja Vu”.
