La Pregunta – Shangri La 7″
La Pregunta was a short lived project in the late 70s and early 80s. 1978’s ‘Shangri La’ on GBP Crescendo was their biggest tune and so is the one that gets the new reissue here by US label Undercover Brother. It is the sort of soaring, glossy, and lush disco sound that defined the ear. The strings do plenty of work up top, but the smooth female vocals also carry plenty of emotive soul over the fat synth bass and nice loose-limbed drum work. The tune is pressed to both sides here for those most active DJs.
