Curated by the UK label with a collector’s ear and a broadcaster’s instinct, it brings together veterans, quiet cult figures and newer voices who rarely share the same shelf space elsewhere. Familiar names are gently recontextualised. Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King glides through a Georgie B remix that restores ease and elegance, while Kathy Sledge’s appearance with Philadelphia outfit Somebody Tell Joe carries the weight of classic soul without sounding trapped by it. Elsewhere, Steve Nichol, formerly of Loose Ends, and Julian Jonah bring seasoned assurance, while younger UK artists such as Harry Linacre add a lighter, contemporary touch.
